Should I be worried?

hey! 

 

So i'm about to get my new rig ongoing - and been wondering if I should worry about the temps of a dual RX480 reference? 

 

I know each one of them reaches 80c• (about 170f•) under load.

 

Its gonna be sitting in my 600C case

 

Most of the time the temperature in my room is going to be 22c• - 27c• (71.6f• - 80.6f•)

Should I worry? >~>...I plan on having those cards around for atleast 2-4 more years , im kinda getting worried now... "

With custom fan curve, you will get better temps but cards will be much louder.

You can wait for RX 480 nitro from sapphire or some other version that have 2 fans. Or at least non blower style cooler.

 

Wait for aftermarket coolers, and you will be just fine

80°C for GPU isn't that bad. Not ideal, but it won't hurt your GPU.

TBH my original plan was to wait for the Sapphire Nitro , I already made an order on the RX480 by XFX and i cancelled it a day after they shipped it. 

 

I got my money back and they sent instructions to carrier to hand it back to them - Just that a day after they got it they shipped it again - probably a compensation considering the agent who assisted me HARASSED ME (guh , stupid Marco)  , so figured - i already got 1 card for free.. may aswell stick with reference , yknow?

 

Or should I get an aftermarket card afterall? 

 

I didn't really know what to do , it'll look so odd in my system O.O...1 card short one card long 

 

Is there going to be anything acting up since that Aftermarket is going to be an 8Pin and ref is 6?  Different clock speeds? 

 

What should I do ? :<

I would still get aftermarket card ... you can still sell that RX 480 that you received, and buy 2 of the same cards

But do you need 2 of those cards?

If you are using 1080p, you need only 1 of these cards

Got myself a 144hz monitor from Massdrop for a reason >w< ! hehe... Aiming towards the 120~ FPS

Besides! until now I had crappy builds! time for me to go rogue :U <3

and I'm not sure about selling the RX480 , considering I live in Israel , shipping here - and out of here is a bitch. and I'm not very keen on local deals. I avoid selling and buying locally.

 

 

Idk I really want 2 Sapphire Nitros T-T , it fits my rig so freaking much , a whole black and white thingy , no leds no nothing , if anything imma just use a cute purple led on the sapphire RGB but thats very settle.  

 

idk...this is such a pain. 

 

Whats the typical temperatures of aftermarket cooling cards? 50? 60? 70? 80? 

 

I'm not sure how I feel about keeping the hot air inside the rig too when  I can just have it all pushed out

Nitro will be around 70°C probbably. But you would have 2 of those cards ... so maybe even hotter.

Kinda hard to tell.

I mean if you put fans to 100%, it will be around 65°C, but that will be loud AF

So I may aswell stick to the Ref , I doubt 10 degrees gonna make a BIG difference :O...

 

Shame , suddenly a red'ish block in my B&W build  , guh...the feels I would've returned the RX480 but I think that if I give it back - I won't see any more of it

I would never send the card back if I got it for free. Unless it would be broken or something ... in that case, well you can try
