My PC wont start up

G.Cristea

Hello,

Ive been looking to clean my old computer up .. and for some reasons just now .. when trying to reinstall a windows on it ... im getting black screen / 0 power . I have all the cables connected my PSU is connectted to motherboard ... and all other others. .but the PSU doesnt want to start up . what should i do . i did see a video on internet how to check if the PSU is dead.. but im not sure  . im using a screwdrive to check if it has power in the PSU and it says the connector still has power.. but i dont know if i should be scared of it .. even tho is unplugged and turned off from the button ... :/

there is but it can be deadly if you touch the wrong parts in any PSU. That video seams a little setchy to me. look around for a website giving a gide or ask some of the members on the forum who know a lot more about PSU than me

I know this seams a bit obvious but have you tried a different wall plug? I have a few in my house that have at some point just died for no apparent reason (probably bad wiring on my part).

Soo, the psu doesn't start up or is the motherboard not functioning (if you can try with a different psu would be awesome)?
