Will I benefit from a cat 6 or cat 6a cable?

So Im pretty sure my internet isn't fast enough to take advantage of cat6 speeds, but what about peer to peer connection? I want to connect 2 PCs together so I can stream games from one PC to another. Would i see inprovements with cat6 or cat6a over cat5e for this? What's the difference between 6 and 6a? Thanks!

Very little difference. I replaced all the 5e in my house with cat6 virtually no improvement wish i didn't bother.

Unless your going for 10 gigabit connections over longer distances, you wouldn't need CAT 6a or even CAT 6, but theses days with the cost of CAT 5e vs CAT 6 being basically the same it's usually not bad to go for CAT 6 as most have thicker insulation making for slightly better durability.

on paper cat 6 is 2.5x as fast, in real world, no clue, I have cat5e

Cat 6 is for 10 Gbit.  Cat 6A is for 10 Gbit over longer distances than Cat 6 will get you.  Unless you have those kinds of speed, it's not needed.

So would going from one PCs NIC to another PCs NIC be able to reach speeds achievable by CAT6? Since I'll be streaming games I'll need the lowest amount of latency possible with the best quality possible

Not unless you've got 10 Gbit NICs.  By default, all computers are 1 Gbit, so you won't come close to needing better cables.
