Hey guys! I'm building my first PC and was wondering whether to buy a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler. I won't be overclocking 1000000% though. If I chose to buy this cooler however, I will have to change my CPU from an i5 6600 down to an i5 6500. Personally I don't think it's worth it but just thought to post it on this forum just in case.

Thanks! <3

If you care about silence then go with a 6500+Cryorig H7, if the stock cooler doesn't bother you, then go with an i5-6500 and save the money. An i5-6600 isn't worth paying more than a few dollars extra for.

Is the Cryorig H7 compatible with an LGA1151 board?

You know a 6600 is locked, right? You need a 6600K to OC, and you need a Z170 motherboard.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Do you find the stock cooler too loud?

Yeah ik i'm NOT going to overclock

Sorry, misinterpreted your OP as not going to go for a psychotic overclock, just a mild one. Understood now.

If silence is your thing, the H7 is $30 on Newegg right now. There are plenty of cheap downdraft coolers like the one I have on Ikaros (link in my sig) or there for $10-15 that are quieter than stock, and there are pricier downdrafts like the Cryorig C7 that are virtually inaudible.
