best VFM card for 1080P paired with i5 6400 & 8 GB RAM

So i recently bought intel i5 6400 and MSI H110M + corsair venegence 8 GB DDR4 RAM

I want to play games on a single 1080p monitor on high( & ultra if possible with some compromises) 

The main Games I play is BF3/BF4/CSGO & Battlefield 1( when it comes).

I am confused btw these tow choices for a new GPU

1) 4 GB RX 480 @326$ ( Price in Indian market is frikking high ) 

2) GTX 970 ( used @251$)

*Does 3.5 GB VRAM of GTX 970 is an issue in my case ?

I am keeping my Mind on DX12 support also but I dont know when & how much it will affect gaming.

So please guide me here . I only had a HD 6670 5 years ago so I am NOOB in this department

I'd say an aftermarket RX 480 (reference one if the price is too high with aftermarket cards).
