Does Windows 10 NOT have a Media player?!

Yah, I've had Windows10 since the beginning, but today is the first time I tried to play a DVD on my laptop (no joke)... And I realised that it does not have a dvd launching application.... Any ideas on what I could get?

You have to pay $15 for it on the Windows store if you weren't an early adopter.

It comes free when you upgrade from Win7 or got Media Center pack for Windows 8 or 8.1. Then I heard it's free until the end of the free upgrade, so those who got it before can have it. After that you'll need to pay $14.99 for it. I got it for free, cause upgrade 8.1 with MCE to Win10 pro, but my account does not have the DVD player in the list.

Use VLC

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

So this is why in general I hate people. Mainly big corporations and organizations. They let their greed overtake them and do not care for their customers. I remember when the saying "The Customer is ALWAYS Right" was followed. Now it's whatever people make is good. I'm starting to ONLY support companies that believe that. (Examples: Razer, iWorld, Mead, Littmann)

That is the STUPIDEST thing.

Well it does cost people money if they want to use a dvd decoder, so they moving that cost to you instead of including it. Since most systems don't have dvd drives, its not a big problem.

Yeah, well their problem is that I trust DVDs and CDs more than the newer stuff (and I'm 16... Shows my trust levels)

See here's where you seem to confused, no company believes the customer is always right, some believe PR is important so we can make more money in the long term. But it's always how can we make more money, which is fine when you're the customer.....not the product

I Didn't even realize it was on until now, apparently I turned it off for a single page instead of the whole domain.

Oh, you want PHYSICAL MEDIA playback. Yeah. No. Haven't had an ODD in the past 4 years. I have a PS3 for that <_<

VLC is your best bet I suppose. Or just get the good ol' Windows Media Player back (there's instructions all over the place)
