$1000 gaming laptop reccomendation?

This is going to begin in a rant about my current one.

In 2012, my parents gave my brother an Acer Aspire S3 laptop. It was less than $300. He was happy that he got a laptop and barely used it. He wasn't very good with keeping his computer clean. It had actual scratches and pizza grease all over it. The software side was no better. All his files were scattered, and he never closed anything for fear of never finding it again. It was eventually put in his closet forever. Until I found it. So that's what I'm using right now, Intel i5-2467M @  1.6GHz and 4Gb RAM. Minecraft runs at 5fps and I don't dare try anything else.

I'm looking for a replacement around  $1000. It should be able to handle light gaming but be used for work as well. I'm leaning toward the Razer Blade Stealth but the HP Spectre might also work. Any ideas?

The Insipron 9559? Pretty good all around one.

Linus did a review on it as well. Worth checking out.

I think he meant 7559. which is a very solid choice. I recently got one (and currently using one) myself.

Error 404 humor not found.

No, the 9559. It's the 7559's bigger brother.

The XPS is quite expensive. For 1000usd, you don't get the 960m. Y700 or 7559 are quite alternatives for under 1000.

get the Y700, dell cuts alot of corners to make the 7559 and 9559 so the build, keyboard and speakers are all worse than the Y700.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...
