Posted June 30, 2016 I want to know your opinions on some clothing-related questions... Question 1. Are sweatpants/jogger pants acceptable and would you wear them in public? Question 2. Is wearing a dress jacket and dress shoes (to school) too much? Question 3. Why do you think teens and Youngsters wear the same clothes compared to each other? Question 4. Do you prefer brand clothing or do you choose your clothes by how it looks? King of Off Topic. Posted June 30, 2016 Are you still wondering what you should wear to school? Honestly, I don't think no amount of polls will help you decide. You have to answer those questions yourself. Why would I care whether they are acceptable or not? I wear them out in public because they're comfortable and it sucks to run in jeans. No? Again, why would I care whether ot not people think it's too much. No? Why would I judge a person on what they wear? Everyone should be judged based on who they are; not on how they dress. I just buy whatever clothing I think look good and comfortable, and that I have good experiences with. I think I'm having some kind of age crisis where I don't know should I dress like other my age (sweatpants and hoodie...) or should I go with my "mental age" and dress a bit better than that. And of course my bullying experiences affect this a lot... Yeah. The thing is that if I dress like others the chances are that I won't get bullied but I don't "feel right". Then there is the other side that I could dress however I want but the chaces are that I'll be bullied more likely... Scheiße, das ist nicht so leicht... But hey, the time will tell. Posted June 30, 2016 1. sure they're acceptable everybody does it 2. not really. 3. Because trends are trendy. Teens are like animals- monkey see, monkey do. If you buy things that are popular, you might become a little more popular. So, they spend big money on crappy clothes and shoes and headphones. Trends. 4. I haven't bought clothes since I bought ski clothes. Other than that, last summer. T-shirts last forever if you take care of them, and I have lots of t-shirts. Posted June 30, 2016 1. yes, they are something I would wear in public, usually I wear jeans though 2. the jacket not so much, the shoes maybe. but that is for myself, just wear whatever you want 3. because if you are different in the slightest you get bullied 4. by how it looks and just feels. I always buy brand shoes (not at full price though), just because I know those are quality and I like how they look (and as I said, not at full price. they are not any more expensive than non brand quality shoes). For clothes it really doesn't bother me whether it's brand or not, because I know all clothes come from the same Bangladesh sweatshops and the only difference is the brand name they sow into it. Posted June 30, 2016 1) Sure, why not? 2) For where I went to school that would be a bit over the top, but your area might differ. 3) The "in" thing. Young adults have a basic desire to be accepted, and often feel that wearing similar clothing style will help accomplish that. 4) Honest answer, I rarely buy my own clothes; Over the years various girlfriends have bought me quite a wardrobe (presumably because they didn't care for what I was wearing) then I just wear the clothes they liked on me which generally drew in more girls when that relationship ended and the process would repeat. Seriously, if you haven't gone shopping with a girlfriend/female friend, you need to. It's expensive in the short run but pays off. Posted June 30, 2016 If you want to wear a Blazer and Jeans, go for it. Just make sure that it flows together. For example, wearing a blazer with a graphic T-Shirt underneat, kinda looks like hipster douchebag to me (personally). But if you swap out that T-Shirt for a really nice Polo T-Shirt, or another kind of collared shirt (Dress shirt, button down casual, etc), that will look much better. As for the shoes? Who gives a shit what kind of shoes you're wearing. I doubt many would even notice. If you like wearing dress shoes, go for it. I would personally NOT wear Sweatpants and a hoodie ever. If I was working out, I would wear sport/athletic shorts. I'm more "business casual", so a nice pair of khakis and a Polo, or even a graphic T-Shirt. On weekends, I'll swap the Khakis for jeans (Many businesses won't let you wear them at work). If I'm feeling a bit more fancy, I might throw on a nice dress shirt, maybe a tie (It's socially acceptable to wear the top button undone and the tie slightly loose). Whatever you do, if you wear pants with belt loops, for God's Sake, wear a belt. Especially if you tuck your shirt in. The most cringe worthy thing I see is when someone is wearing dress pants without a belt. Looks so wrong. But again, this is all personal opinion. Most importantly, dress the way you want. Dress comfortable (within reason), and dress in a way that you like the appearance of. But hey, I'm not a teenager anymore, and I fucking hate the fashion of most teens.
