Teen's and cyber security?

I was wondering since there are all age groups in the forums. How would most people here who do work in a tech type work enviroment if they saw a 16 and or a 17 year old working a high end job there? I was wondering since I was in a Canadian wide Computer/Cyber based challenge enviroment or the long way to put it the "Cyber Defence Challenge Canada" (CDCC). I was surprised not only by my team but by others too. Seeing how smart teens can be and how well they work together. Is it a good thing that teenagers are showing interested in the more advanced side of electronics or is it a bad thing that teens are even more attacked to there computers but they want to learn from it?

Since I am a teen myself I think it is a good thing but it will have its horrific drawbacks.

I think it would be very unlikely for somebody under 18 to work in any high end job in any field simply because of labor laws for minors and the lack of being able to enter into any employment contract or NDA.

EDIT: My post reflects my views for the US, I can't comment on other countries.

Not to mention companies probably want to see certain certifications

any high end job requires years of experience for any consideration

so unless you're one of those "special" kids that finishes university at the age of 13, you're not going to get a very high end job

simply because of responsibility, experience, and development

True but there's no age requirement for certs, although the better certs require actual on the job experience to obtain them but you can get CompTIA certs in high school. I think even with certs your resume wouldn't get past HR's screening if you're not 18 or older though.

I mean its not un-common for me to see teens working in server management. Like I said at the CDCC job scouts from cisco would get students information to keep in contact with them so they can get a job in the future. Teens can learn faster then adults depending on the mental stability of the student...
