Seems like a date has been set so pull your pant sup and get ready, also get your eyes on these bioses.

enjoy

Im curious about the coolers, tahiti le(7870 xt and the 270x outputs more heat then tahiti xt(7970 and 280x), i hope they do something to address that.

Rebadge of 7870xt and 7970 coming at 200$ and 300$? It's gonna be more expensive than the current GPUs? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

More expensive by about $20-$40 and about 10-20% better.

... Yeah. Sounds about right.

Imagine the r9 280x drop to $200 when the gtx800 series come out. These are launch prices, and AMD tends to lower the price rather drastically when Nvidia counters.

I hope everyone noticed this page at the bottom of the OP's article.

I dont think i know what your trying to say, anyways that is the 290x so the embargo is for a different card.

1070Mhz on the 280X, that's even higher than the Ghz edition, this card will likely go head to head with the 770 & possibly come on top.
1120mhz for the 270X (probably a Tahiti LE) will also very likely go head to head with the 760.

1600 MHz memory clock? I ram is as fast.

*facepalm* Thats 6400Mhz effective, GDDR5 is quad channel memory so take the base clock and multiply it by 4...

stock clock for the tahiti le is 925mhz, mine is factory oced at 1000mhz and i max out at 1425mhz, seems interesting.

Any problems with me saying there's no reason to wait for new GPUs from AMD unless somebody wants to buy the factual NEW GPUs (260x, 290 and 290x) because rebadges are not worth waiting for in my honest opinion?

What people take issue with is the fact that you are so biased it's not even funny. It's like you expect people to argue with you about stuff. You never have anything good to say about AMD products, so why comment?

There is a difference between honest opinion and Blind fanboyism.

Blind fanboyism of what? old Radeons? Oh please now. I don't say anything good about AMD products? what? I like their GPUs, what's the problem with that? Me making comments that a series of rebadges is not worth waiting for is bashing AMD in your eyes?

No it's just every time I come to AMD based threads you always have something negative to say. It gets tiring after a while. just saying...

If you don't like it then go and hire yourself at AMD HQs so you can help them improve their product lines. I have no problems with AMD GPUs, and I always thought by the nature of free commenting it's not important whether the comment is negative or positive as long as it's relevant to the thread and I think saying that the older GPUs seem to have better value right now than new rebadges is completely relevant.

Yep, you can probably expect the gtx800 series to be faster than the r9 200 series, but that's to be expected.

The r9 200 series is supposed to compete with the gtx700 series, and besides, AMD is all about price to performance, not just performance.

Yes, but when altering memory clock, you do so with the base clock (not multiplied by 4). 1600MHz is kinda high. RAM on the 6XXX series GPUs was around, what? 1200MHz?

It will have some IPC improvements but it's still better to get the 7000 series of cards for price to performance. IMHO, but when the prices of the 2xx series go down it will be a different story Especially when they bundle games with the cards!

This.

Oh right, what do you mean by IPC here? If you mean instructions per cycle then you are terribly wrong, the only thing they can alter on a chip that already is made is the memory and core clocks.

They aren't just overclocked. It's more than that. Not much more, but more.

What "more" is to them than older GPUs? What? TrueAudio is only on the new GPUs i.e. 260x, 290x [and 290, as well]. What else could they possibly add to the rebadged chips? xD

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?
