I'm looking at a GTX 770 that costs half the price of a used card on amazon. The games I want to play are League of legends, Skyrim and GTA 5. I play at 1080p / 720p and I'm completely fine with medium to low settings, as long as it runs smooth. Is that card still good enough for that type of gaming?

should be OK, not great but it should do

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

no. My old GTX 645 can run GTAV 60FPS at high/very high and the 770 is better. With OC it should do great if you dont have budget for a better one.

So your GTX 645 is more powerful than a 980? Interesting... can you stop trolling please?

Im not trolling, im serious, what do you mean more powerful than GTX 980? My 970 can run GTAV with everything very high/ultra (excl advanced settings) at almost steady 60fps

there is no "ultra without advanced" - that's called high and even then the 970 can't exactly push high AA and textures due to VRAM

He doesn't say his GTX 645 is more powerful than a 980. He says his GTX 645 can run GTA 5 at 60 fps. What if he turned down everything there was to turn down and playing at 480p? I can get 120 fps in-game on tf2 on my iris 6100... medium settings

Yes but he specified high settings

Also, Iris 6100 is more powerful than a GTX 645.

TF2 is one of the least demanding games there is to play to be honest, anything can run it :P even my 8800GT can lol

I play on medium/high settings with my 760. with between 45 and 60FPS on GTA V. There are some parts of the city where it drops lower but I think it that is a restriction with the game engine since my friends computer struggles in the same areas (6700k+980ti).

I traded some of the shadow settings since they hit the GPU really hard, no MSAA and shader quality is lowered.

The 770 should be fine, it's still a pretty kick ass card and they can be bought second hand for very cheap right now, albeit with a considerably higher power draw.
