After effects exporting?

Hi, I just got a copy of adobe after effects and premier pro, I can't export from after effects without it being really laggy in windows media player or vlc, or anything else.

what am I doing wrong?

An old 1tb samsung drive, exporting at dv settings.

Dont use dv, use h264

digital video. it was a thing when tapes were around

Do you have Adobe Media Encoder?

You cant export with h.264 which is mp4 with the original AE I beleive

literally everything that is produced with a video editor is "digital video"

it is literally video, and its digital, because its on a PC

 

you should try AVI or H264 instead though

dv is a codec at 720x480

 

dont use avi

Adobe Media Encoder is installed but I have no idea how to use it, when I select add to encoder queue it says that it's not installed, even though it is.

avi works very well

big files but great quality

also it would confirm if OP's issues are from codec or disk

because literally every media player can play AVI perfectly

AVI isnt a codec.
