Install Solus OS in UEFI

As the title suggests, I'm trying to install Solus OS in UEFI on my MSI GT70 laptop, but it wouldn't recognize the usb and just go straight to bios. Also, my laptop uses a RAID0 with two 128GB SSD's and if I want to install it in legacy mode, it will suggest /dev/sda or /dev/sdb to install on, which are the two member drives of the RAID. I can't seem to choose the actual RAID volume to install on, only seperate drives. Would there be a way to fix this so I could run it in UEFI and on my RAID drives?

Did you format the USB for UEFI booting?

Use Rufus, it'll show you options for that.

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.

I've used Rufus with the standard settings, but it wouldn't use FAT but Large FAT. I'm trying a different USB now that suggests FAT and let's hope that works.

May be it'll help you. You've to select this option after selecting the ISO image.

Solus 1.1 gives me this error, downloaded Solus 1.2 and it's the same. Tried both with GPT partition scheme for UEFI.

Tried everything but it just won't. I just went with Legacy but still can't get the raid working. They show up as two different drives that I can install on and dmraid is not a recognized command...

  • 1 year later...

I used MultiWriter to write Solus ISO and could be running in both environment (UEFI or Legacy)
