980ti and 1070 preform almost identically. you shouldn't replace your 980ti.

wait for the 1170 or 1180, because you already have an awesome GPU

The 1070 is slightly faster, and has more VRAM.

 

However, if you were got go for a 1080, then it'd be much more of an improvement, but the question of if it's worth it is up to you.

 

980ti -> 1070 = Not worth it

980ti -> 1080 = Up to you

 

Maybe give it a few months to see if Nvidia releases anything above a 1080, like perhaps a 1080ti, or 1090, or even a new titan card.
