Samsung Marshmallow update, what are your thoughts

PhilBoisvert

Hey guys, I have had my note 4 rooted with cyanogenmod since I bought it. Today I had to use touchwizz for the first time in a while to update the modem and bootloader for new 6.0 rom and what was my surprise to discover that my biggest problem with touchwizz was gone. THE MULTITASKING BUTTON FUCKIN WORKS PROPRELY NOW AWWW YEAH!!! Now I wonder if I should install the rom I was going to install (CMRemix) or just stay on touchwizz.

What are your thoughts on touchwizz Marshmallow?

Here are mine :

-The icon design give me nausea (a launcher could fix that)

-Snappy for now (My other rom was getting buggy AF)

-I liked Cyanogen app drawer better

-The capacitive touche button makes me cringe. I forced the touch button on cyanogenmod

-The multasking button has always been slow for me on previous update, to the point where it was not convenient to use, now it responsive at last.

-5 icon wide home screen are better suited for this size of a display if you ask me

Case : Corsiar Air 540 CPU : Intel i5 8600k GPU : Asus Nvidia 970 DirectCUII RAM : 16gb DDR4 MB : ASUS Prime z370-p PSU : OCZ Modxtreme 700w SSD : Samsung 840 EVO 250gb

I went from a Cyanogen modded Galaxy S5 (which i loved) to a Galaxy S7 edge with Marshmallow and I wouldnt go back to Cyanogenmod.  My phone is super snappy, the features that come with Marshmallow for the S7 Edge dont come with cyanogenmod, (if they do they are buggy)

Post screenshots of the UI if you can :D I've had the update notification sitting there for a while and I'm weary of updating. There's no turning back and they have been doing nothing but removing features with every OS update. Another thing, have they borked the S-Health app, S-Planner app or the music app?

I'm actually switching to Groove music because of how badly Samsung have ruined the music app... It's an absolute toy now. It doesn't support extended equalisation features over bluetooth (I had to use a third party app to get that working) and guess what - the third party app doesn't work anymore. I remember back in the S4 days after the Kitkat update when literally everyone was complaining about the removal of the music player from the lockscreen... As well as the new one which broadcasted album art for all eyes to see...

Speedtests

I am not a "gimme those features" kind of guys, heck I never even used the Spen on my 4 years of having a Note series cellphone.

What features are you taking about? Cyanogen does not use your curved screen properly I presume

Marshmallow on the S7 and S7 edge is amazing.  Maybe cause they almost came out hand in hand? For a music player i use Spotify, works great over bluetooth, and for a fee of $4.99 amonth you have unlimited music at your fingertips without using precious storage space on your phone

Changed my way of listening to music really. If you like to discover lots of new musique like me, it is definaltly worth the jump. Watch out for data consumption tho

Same for me,  you even have an option to download songs for offline use if your interested in something like that as well,  Another cool feature is streaming to any device around that is Spotify capable.  For example I have a Amazon Fire TV with Spotify installed as well,  if i walk in the door to my house with headphones in it, Spotify on my phone recognizes my fire tv is on and i can play music through my TV instantly.  Pretty sweet.

Those fuckers got me, I am staying on touchwizz. I will install a launcher to get the stock android vibe. I also found a possible method to force the touch boutton with a full rom.
