PCIe x16

How would I know if its PCIe x16 2.0 or 3.0. It only says 1 x PCI Express x16 (3.0 Ivy Bridge), (2.0 Sandy Bridge). The motherboard is  Dell 0XR1GT

Tbh it's doesn't matter which for any modern graphics card.

then it has 1 pcie 3.0 x16 if you put in an ivy bridge processor because sandybridge cpus dont support pcie 3.0 but it probably wont make a difference to a gpu

3.0 if you use an ivy bridge CPU

2.0 if you use a sandy bridge one

 

doesnt really matter anyway though, you dont notice any performance difference

Dude... please, just read what you copy pasted. It says right there when it's 3.0 and when it's 2.0

In this case, the version of the PCIe is dependant upon the CPU. The PCIex16 lines come from the CPU and the version depends upon what's in the CPU.
