But there HAS been a surge in the number of complaints about Nvidia drivers recently, mainly due to Maxwell being shafted in favor the of 1080/1070 Fermi Editions.

I'm getting over 120fps in Doom with nightmare settings. Have they tried turning it off then on again?

I've read some stories about the AMD CPU build process. Not all of the created chips are 100% functional, and some have minor errors in them. (goes for Intel as well, and I assume it's the same for GPU's)

 

Instead of throwing those "bad" chips away, AMD tries to salvage them, and getting a better "usefull" amount of chips each time they create a batch. They can make the bad chips work "perfectly" by, for example, increasing the power going through them. That will, for example, make them run more hot. However, if you have a perfect AMD chip, it doesn't really need all that power. With customized drivers or settings, you could increase performance, with lower power requirements.

 

There are bad parts, which really need those higher powers. And that's why (in my oppinion) it would be software related. AMD is not bad. AMD is just different, and more economical. They do not produce crap, and their software is good enough for a large amount of chips.

 

Not sure what the actual problem with this troll is.

My some of the people I know stated they had less than 30fps dips in Rocket Legaue while having i7-4790K + GTX 980 another had issues with CS:GO while using same CPU but with GTX 970, not sure exactly what FPS he got but it was not past 60 so the game was laggy, yes CS:GO is laggy stutter if you enable 60fps VSYNC or play with less than 80+ FPS...

That is called chip binning and it works differently. Those "bad" chips are cut-down (talking GPUs) into the lower end GPUs. 280X gets cut down to 280 and so on. CPUs are different.

Right... I find the GFE to be rather benign. I only use it to update drivers and once to set the LED on my card. Nether Crimson nor GFE offered anything that won me over, nor did they have an issue that stood out.

Don't use the auto settings. Huge mistake. And always use the custom install feature.

I'm trying to buy / upgrade my gaming PC... A gaming PC that is got dam working! 

 

But what is making a GPU's GOOD or BAD??? The same with CPU's......

All the harware numbers do poop if it feels like the support for the hardware is not there!

Is AMD GPU's and Nividia GPU's support garbage nowdays? NO?

 

I love to have a AMD GPU if it got dam works. But 1h ago I did not even know what was inside of my gaming PC... But the odd DELL laptop I got I have overclockt the GPU close to 20%..... That thing going to set fire on houses if I leav it on... Without a cooling pad...
