So hello guys, I just have one question about screen resolution.

Is it good to force a screen resolution higher than the native resolution?
Cause I have a 1366x768 monitor and I want to make it to 1920x1080.
And I found out that you can change the resolution higher than the native screen resolution thru NVIDIA Control Panel, but the question is;

Does it have any bad effects to my PC/Hardware (will I have a hardware failure) if I force my screen resolution to higher resolution?
Will my gpu or my motherboard will be dead if i do this?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you use DSR to make it higher, in which case it's 100% safe.
In case of Downsampling, it's safe in most cases.

You can use Nvidia's DSR technology to render an image at two times the resolution of your screen, but it wont actually make the resolution higher. It may only improve the looks (thanks to downscaling).

Yep, just did it everything looks like sh*t but I still want it so my desktop space is more bigger and larger (needed it for adobe premiere etc.)

Thanks!

You could also just purchase another screen, you can get a very good 22"-24" display for around 150 USD.

And dual monitor is definitely worth it.

Try increasing DPI for text, and/or use non standard scaling value (since U have non-standard native resolution).

One with 1920 x 1080 and one with 1366 x 768? that looks kinda sucks lol, but anyways I will soon :)

1366 X 768 is a VERY Standard resolution.

Yeah...
I doubt M$ sees it that way with text dpi scaling (by default it's set usually to work best with native 720p, 1080p, 1440p and 2160p screens).

OP : Try to use 2x native resolution (ie. 2732x1536 in your case). It should help with pixel clarity (since in this case, it will be 4 pixels rendered = 1 pixel on screen).

If everything looks terrible, try playing with the DSR sharpness setting in the control panel.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Just did that 2732x1536 and damn it looks super nice but can't see text anymore lol (I have the text set on 125% the zoom thing idk what it's called the dpi text)

I think i'm just gonna stick with 1920x1080 (even tho i can't see stuff also there)

Definitely will try tweaking it right now.

Use 175 or 200% DPI scaling :)
There should be an option to unlock higher values if you see 150% as "max".

You can't input it manually ?

Okay just did that, and the dpi thing makes the stuff all look like a horseasdasd***asdjasod.

I'm sticking to 100% dpi and 1920 x 1080! Anyways thanks for the help alot, I think the only solution for me now is to buy a 1080p monitor.

I can't, when I put 175 it goes 200% or 150%.

Windows 10 ?
Here's toturial how to set a custom DPI value : LINK.
You may have to experiment since (like I said earlier), M$ DPI scaler isn't "happy", at "weird" resolutions (like those from some DSR modes).

Okay okay, we do experiment but im Windows 7.

EDIT: Just nailed 175% lol.. imma experiment with the big super epic screen reso now that you gave me.
