Had a similar problem with a Maximus IV Extreme-Z board, BIOS update fixed it.

I've never updated a BIOS before to be honest, any thing I should check before I do so? or anything I need to know about doing it?

As long as you're not running a RAID of HDDs you should be fine, you can most likely find a specific guide to updating your motherboards BIOS on the manufacturers website.

What kind of cooler are you running? Temps are a tinch on the high side.

Typically for a problem like this I would recommend a fresh install of Windows.

Im just running the stock intel cooler so that might be a problem, and ok, I'm going to try updating my bios then I may have to do a fresh install.

I wouldn't bother updating your BIOS unless you /need/ too. Typically you'd only need to update for things like RAM compatibility, the ability to use high capacity HDDs and support for a newer CPU ect. Sounds to me you just need a better cooler for that CPU and a fresh install of Windows. Drivers are a huge pain in the ass to sort.

alright thanks, I will wait til I upgrade my GPU to get a new cooler along with it. Do you think that my cpu will be damaged however though if i wait a bit for a cooler? cause if that would be the case il just pick up like a hyper 212 evo for now

Just on the safe side, you should even check the Health of your BootDrive/HardDrive.

Most of the time Bad Sectors or Hard Disk failures will result in sudden hangs or BSOD.

I had a 500 WD Blue died on me before for Bad Sector on the MBR. If I want to continue to use it, I had to reinstall windows on every reboot ._.
Signs like reading files are slower than usual or accessing something took longer than it suppose to might also indicates that a HD is dying.

I'm sure your MOBO and HD is new enough to support and have the S.M.A.R.T. feature in it.
Just download something like SeaTools or HDTune to check the health of your harddisk.
