Well Founders Edition have high price because you can buy it first ... will take 2 weeks before board partners will release custom cards.

So if you want to have new hardware ASAP, you will have to over pay for that founders edition.

In a long term plan, FE will be the bigest crap possible because custom PCBs will be made for extreme overclocking, and probbably with same or even lower price.

I'm waiting for EVGA SC GTX 1070 edition ... still same PCB as FE, but at least it lets me remove stock cooler without voiding warranty, and already a bit OCed. Not to mention that SC from EVGA will be 50€ cheaper than FE.

So the only reason for you to buy FE it, if you want it on release day. But if you can wait week or two, you should do that.

No they won't be.

At launch I taught that those will be chery picked cards. But they aren't.

So they will be worthless after few months when custom PCBs and hybrid version will arrive at same price.

Didn't Nvidia say it would be made of better materials?

Yeah ... cooler only. Premium aluminium crap. Premium fan that will make your GPU throttle and make sounds like F16 taking off.

But PCB is still the same.

Possibly, but if it throttles or sounds like a jet engine the materials it is made out of doesn't matter.
