It plugs into that small slot above where the GPU goes.

yeah I did that, but there's a USB cord from the card to the motherboard, idk where that wire goes.

The USB cable you're referring to would go on one of the USB headers. One appears to be behind the sound plugs and the other by the SATA ports.
