So i bought all the parts for my pc apart from the gpu! Im not sure what one to get...

I play games at 1080p but might try 1440p when i have saved more money.

I need it to be powerful enough to play rocket league minecraft and just cause 3.

You may be wandering why i am even considering this, but my thinking is that if i where to buy a 970 i could send back the 6600k and get a i7 6700k or even a i7 5820k. If i got a 5820k i would send back the mobo so it would be a bit of effort!

there is also the option of getting a 1440p monitor with a 970 and a 6600k.

What do you think? do i go newer 1070 and no fancy extras or a 970 and some fancy stuff?

There's no point of getting a GTX 970 now. If you can wait a month and the new RX 480 doesn't disappoint, it's the obvious alternative.

If you can afford a GTX 1070 without sacrificing anything from your build, it's a decent choice.

Why is everyone fussing about it anyway? Is it from that graph? the 2way crossfire vs 1080?

Wait for independent reviews of the RX 480, and compare them to the GTX 1070. Then go for what you can afford.

Fanboyism is a horrible thing and should not even be talked about. Buying something because you like the company is never good and you lose out, I would wait just a little bit and see what happens.

I say keep the 6600K and get the GTX 1070, or wait and see how AMD does with the RX 480 or 490. Your 6600K is already as powerful as any game is likely to need for quite a while.

A GTX 970 would be a bit inconsistent at 1440p. Rocket League and Minecraft could probably run very nicely, but probably not something new and higher-fidelity like Just Cause 3 unless you make some visual quality sacrifices.

To OP:

I love these guys, just a month ago we were telling people who were buying 980(ti)'s to wait for the Pascal release, and now that the 1080 and 1070 are coming and that we now have benchmarks for them, we are telling people to wait for the Polaris cards and benchmarks. As soon as those come out, we're gunna start telling people to wait for the 1080ti ! Dood, just buy the goddamn GTX 1070! It's really all you need! REALLY!

No. If anyone who had any sense in mind would tell people to wait for Vega and see what it offers against Nvidia, Vega is supposed to come out soon. Can you tell me, I don't care for Nvidia but what is the price of the 1070 again? Not the Toys R Us Fanboy Edition, just a normal 1070.

What are you on about? An i5 will not bottleneck, you get almost the same exact FPS.
