Noctua NH-D15

Good day!

Just wanted to ask a quick question, i am currently using a Noctja NH-D15 and with its huge ass heatsink im worried about my board breaking or bending due to the weight its applying to it. Is it safe enough since this is my first twin tower cpu cooler also my board is a asus Z170-A. Thanks!

just make sure you mount it correctly

Your motherboard is sturdier than you think. Just make sure you have it mounted firmly using all of the indicated screws and standoffs, and mount the backplate and cooler correctly. If you did so, there's nothing to worry about.

Agree with @Aereldor - I have one of these for a while now and as long as it's mounted properly there's nothing to worry about.

But if your motherboard or CPU cooler are mounted improperly, you could damage both the board and the CPU in it. If you're especially paranoid, give it a look and make sure you've mounted everything correctly.

???  Don't know why you quoted me? I was agreeing with you, and also re-iterating that as long as the cooler is mounted correctly it will be fine.

It reminded me to follow up on my initial post. If OP has reason to be worried, it won't hurt to go over how he's mounted his motherboard and his backplate/cooler.
