Why does my Droid keep killing Micro USB cables?

In the timeframe that I've had my Droid Turbo, a year and a half-ish, I have gone through about 10 Micro-USB cables that all died in a month or two. The original one died in about two months, the next one I bought worked for a day (slightly exaggerating), and every one I've had since then has failed. I am now using the charger that came with my very first phone, which takes a solid 4-5 hours to charge from 10% to 100%.

Theory One: The Motorola turbo-charger wall wort is defective/damaged and is frying them. The wart does get very hot, as well as the phone (somewhere in the ballpark of 160o F at max!!!).

Theory Two: The charging port on the phone is loose and damaging the cables when moved around/Micro-USB just sucks

Theory Three: I suck at taking care of stuff?????

What do you guys think?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

That's pretty much my guess. I'm going to grab a 3rd party one and hope I have better luck with it.

You should have gotten a replacement cable from Motorola for the defective cable last year while it was still within warranty.
