In late august/early september i am upgrading my graphics card, i allready own a 970 so i could buy another 970 (for sli) or buy a 1070 (and just use that) for about the same price, so which one would you recommend, oh and can i use a 1070 as my main graphics card and use a 970 just for physx?

Using another GPU for PhysX gains nothing and just wastes energy. My advice is wait for the next generation. SLI is not worth the hassle and there's no reason to buy a new GPU every generation.

1070, it should have like the same amount of power as a Titan X....

I believe it´s being pegged between the 970 and 980 actually.

Based on the specs, it's theoretically slightly slower than a 980 ti.

The 1070 is only using GDDR5 not GDDR5x. If you really want a 1070, sell your 970 for about $200 - $250 right now and make up the rest.

that would depend on the configuration......... I did suggest in the tech quicky/review section going back over physx stuff.......... and I'd sure as hell like to see the physx numbers when nvidia cards are ran. WONDER WHY WE NEVER SEE THAT SHIT?

Because they´re too busy with the real questions. Like will this 970 blend?

what the hell are you talking about?

at 1080p and some 1440 the 970 will be okay. sli-ing will help in some circumstances. but there will come a point where lack of vram will totally kill it.

so i would go for the bigger card.
