I didn't find this useful at all. Not in the slightest bit.

But I did find this entertaining, which is pretty much why I'm here anyway. Soo... thumbs up!

Do not feed.

Erh, I don't think I want to do that.

Having a pile of dying/dead 80GB IDE WD Caviar SE's is worth more to me than no dying/dead 80GB IDE WD Caviar SE's.

Then again, I am a hoarder.

I recently took apart a bunch of hard drives, for some reason I thought it was a good idea to peel off the labels entirely, turns out you can dizzy/high from the fumes that are released when you peel away those labels. I stopped doing that pretty quick.

Apparently using a heat gun makes this easier and less fumey.

I have kept the platters, gonna try and integrate them into a case mod or art piece of some kind.

Magnetic parts trays are AWESOME, and everyone who builds PCs should have one... But rather than buying one, you may be able to build one yourself!

Do you know at what temperature these magnets could be melted? an idea expanding upon your theme would be to melt the magnet into a mold that covers more surface area.

How do you split the magnet off of the metal piece so the it'll lay flat?

THIS IS MY SUPER TEENY TINY SIGNATURE!

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.

I'm pretty sure that any temp that could melt these magnets would demagnetize them.
