What Can My Future Rig Handle

I'm hoping to build a new rig, and I was wondering what it could handle. I listed the more basic specs below, and I was really wondering what it could do with Far Cry 3 at 1080p.

You'll be able to play games at medium or so for a year or two. Probably go to lower settings in the next few years, as you'll mostly be VRAM limited.

Get the Crosshair out of there and get a 7950 and a cheaper motherboard

Terrible way of balancing the build. Skip the Crosshair V Formula, get cheap H81 motherboard and pair it with i5-4440 or i5-4430 and you're set.

No, please don't do that, get a 8320/8350 if you can afford it and a 6300 would even be fine

I can't really drop the mobo, since I already have it and I used it with my old Phenom II X4, and I might be able to drop in a 7950 or something instead. Nothing is really written in stone yet.

if you got the mobo, keep it, get the 6300 it's great (if you got the cash for the 8320/8350 though, by all means), and please don't go lower than the 7950 / 760 (whichever is cheaper where you are from) imho you'll regret it if you do go lower.

In that case then yeah, 6300 will be a pretty nice little upgrade for you, pretty much the best bang for buck out there, and then just get whatever card suits the budget.

 

With a 7790 you'll be able to play most games on medium for a little while yet.

Oops, not Phenom. It was an old Athlon II X3. Thinking of the rig I recently build for a friend.

if it's not budget you shouldn't get something from a lower tort then upgrade that 6300 shouldn't belong in a 1000 up build, why not wait and save the money then build?

I really thought it through, and really I won't notice dropping an 8xxx in compared to a 6300.

Get a FX-83xx and a HD 7950, and than you 'ill be able to play these game Maxed Out.

 

The FX-8320 is about $150 and the HD 7950 $200.
