1600p in an 8.9" screen? Damn. If it wasn't so expensive for the 32 or 64 GB I might like those - for school textbooks among other books I buy.

It being so restricted is kind of needed in order for Amazon to sell these things so cheap as these devices are vehicles for Amazon to sell you more of their stuff. Amazon is all about profiting off you after you buy their device, they could care less if they profit off the sale of the device itself at the moment.
