Now I know everyone who is into tech is gonna say build it yourself, but actually anwser with facts please

I have never built a gaming pc and im looking into going to the pc side, but I dont know if I should build it myself or if i should buy a prebuilt .

I know custom is cheaper but when you custom build you have to buy your own os, no warrenty, and tbh Im just scared that Im gonna mess up something while Im building. And thats $720 to waste.

What should I do?

You do get warranty when building yourself because every part has its own warranty

Uhhmm let me just correct you, the parts you buy will still have warranty, you will just have to take that part out of the pc and give it back. It would be illegal for a shop to sell new things with out a warranty on them, if they do that you should call the police and let them have a good long talk with the shop.

Well if you just follow one of the guides Linus has then it is just like builing things out of lego.

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

you do have warranty on your induvidual parts if you dont mess it up. often they are way longer than the normal warranties of pre-builds. like 5 years on some psu's and 10 years on ram.

if you ask here we will put a good shopping list for you and linus has done some pretty detailed build-guides which cover up most of the beginner faults.

you can buy windows cheap on kenguin and you wont have problems with bloatware.

also its like with manual cars or changing tires. you want to do it yourself!

Desktop Build Log http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/486571-custom-wooden-case-with-lighting/#entry6529892

thinkpad l450, i5-5200u, 8gb ram, 1080p ips, 250gb samsung ssd, fingerprint reader, 72wh battery <3, mx master, motorola lapdock as secound screen

Please quote if you want me to respond and marking as solved is always appreciated.

My personal preference is building my own, but I'm sure for a lot of people (okay, most of whom probably don't even know this forum or its owners even exist :D) pre-builts are appropriate.

A couple things I really dislike about pre-builts is that they seem to skimp on quality of some parts, like PSUs.  Having a voltage switch on the PSU to me is an automatic sign that it's a bad PSU, with the possible exception of SeaSonic, PC Power & Cooling, Delta, maybe EVGA.  I'd much rather see EVGA P2/T2 series, Corsair AXi series, SeaSonic G or X series, etc. used in pre-builts - or, PSUs that are Tier 1 or 2 on the tier lists and get at least 9.5/10 score on JonnyGuru, TechPowerUp, etc review sites.

Also I've heard of putting high-powered CPUs and underpowered GPUs in.  Of course it depends on the intended use of the computer, but as an all-rounder I think I'd rather have an i5-6500 and a GTX 960 than an i7-5930K and an R3 210 (if such a card even exists).  (But who am I to preach? My custom-built system has a 4790K with iGPU for now.  I'm eyeing the GTX 1070 in a month or two though....)

building your own is quite easy, so its highly likely anyone who's done so will just tell you to do that. however, if you've never done it or anything like it i can understand how it can seem quite daunting, but be fully aware that you're going to pay the price for someone else to do it. $750 prebuilt will not be as good as $750 worth of parts, some companies will actually offer a build warranty so if you fuck up they'll repair it, and you can get windows 7 from kinguin.com for $20, then upgrade to windows 10 free.
