We still need more benchmarks but the 10xx looks extra promising.
I'd not purchase the card and wait. Too close to release.

I have two options on buying a GPU

 

ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 980 Ti MATRIX-GTX980TI-P-6GD5-GAMING 6GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Gaming Video Card

or

 

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4995-KR 6GB SC+ GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card

 

both same price, I might be able to get the ASUS a bit cheaper though.

1070 is going to be 379 usd. so yea.
