Teachers love using the internet so thats why we run out really fast

That's hilariously sad. I don't think ANY school in the US or Canadeh (or the rest of the world for that matter) charges for internet, lol.

Prints yes, on access charged internet is a damned comedy at a school. I guess AUS really does have it worse than Canada.

Do you have a smartphone with unlimited data?

Charging per MB sounds dumb unless their internet has a bandwidth cap. If there's a bandwidth cap on their internet then I can see why they'd charge.

Charging for printing is  the norm as ink is crazy expensive. Can't have a kid print 25 pages of black just to screw with the school.

Dang Adelaide got screwed over, when I was in high school they tried that for our first year and there was so much backlash that they abolished it.   -_-

I was going to go off and ask what kind of a ghetto school do you go to where the Internet needs to be funded by students....and then I noticed you're from Australia and did an audible "oh".

You're not supposed to be browsing the net anyways.. unless they charge you for internet usage during classes on school computers

yes thats what they do we can only use the internet for school stuff everything else is blocked, they used to give us $2 a term (10 weeks)

Is the schools internet at least fast and unrestricted? In America at least we do get usually p2p filtering only, but the internet is usually on government T1 lines here.

its fast but most websites are blocked, this is one of the only non directly educational sites that isnt

My school district has their own dedicated ISP that IS the district. 50ish MB down/ 40ish up depending on school wide use. Ping is disgusting (generally upwards of 350ms) because of slow and bloated and old main servers. They have network based security for client computers with a bunch of other features, universal network logon, district wide web filtering and blocking depending upon account type (teachers can access YouTube, kids cannot). Security is pretty damn strict, and there is no such thing as privacy...

Of course, it's easier than easy to plug in an Android device and enable tethering while disconnecting the network ethernet and then have unrestricted/unbiased*/untrackable computer and internet access!  :D I don't even have unlimited data and it still works very, very well.

*My school restricts a lot of sites that are very useful for many reasons. (but not ads....?) Currently, Fox News is not blocked. CNN (any other news source pretty much), yes.  Those in charge of education, need an education!

I'd be just happy you got internet, for awhile it was 2gig per year at uni for me.

So i was spending about $60 a month for data so i could get journals + data sets

printing is always charged

you most likly find the school doesnt have the infrastructure and funds to let students sit on facebook and youtube all day - plus its a school

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Sorry but Fox isnt great but CNN is garbage?

During the Benghazi hearing, trying to figure out how a direct attack on an American embassy happened, CNN only covered 8min and it wasnt even mentioned by Anderson Copper or Piers Morgan.

They suck and live behind the lefts "perfect happygolucky" land. Im not saying Fox is perfect but at least they dont hide the truth.
