980 was 500$, 1080 is 600$ for standard and 700$ for FE edition. AF ones will be around 650$. Basically, if the 980 was 400 pounds, 1080 will be 500 quid, give or take 25.

lmao good one. I mean if Nvidia lack a collective brain cell they would price the 1080 higher than the 980 Ti and the Fury X as you describe. I think it's much more likely that you're wrong again though.

That's what @don_svetlio is claiming. I disagree. I think the 1080 will cost about the same as the 980 did.

The 980 Ti is around £500. The Fury X is around £480. It makes no sense to price the 1080 higher or as high as either of these.

I am expecting it to be between £400 and £450, yes. I would expect the 1070 to be around £275 and be very nearly as good.

There's a reason the 980 Ti and Fury made the 980 completely irrelevant, and why making this temporary flagship even more expensive makes no sense at all to me.

Factor in the low yields of GDDR5X, the larger dies and the fact that it's brand new and you have 500 quid.

The Fury X has even lower yields of HBM -- and those low yields were spread between the Fury X, Fury, and R9 Nano. Nvidia are only putting GDDR5X on the one card, and it's the card that's already priced outside of most sane people's reach anyhow. I don't think yields are going to be a problem for Nvidia.

I want to wait so bad.. but if i drop GTX980ti someone might buy it! and cause my luck is shit 1080 could cost 500-600 British Pounds..

If it would cost around 400-450 British Pounds i would drop 980ti instantly!

There is simply no way 1080 is 450 gbp. 600 usd is 415 gbp and then add 20% VAT. And when do new cards come to market at MSRP? It's going to be 500+.

Location: Kaunas, Lithuania, Europe, Earth, Solar System, Local Interstellar Cloud, Local Bubble, Gould Belt, Orion Arm, Milky Way, Milky Way subgroup, Local Group, Virgo Supercluster, Laniakea, Pisces–Cetus Supercluster Complex, Observable universe, Universe.

Spoiler

12700, B660M Mortar DDR4, 32GB 3200C16 Viper Steel, 2TB SN570, EVGA Supernova G6 850W, be quiet! 500FX, EVGA 3070Ti FTW3 Ultra.

Fury X was supposed to be priced at 850$ originally but was dropped due to 980 Ti's existence. GDDR5X amounts are extremely low currently
