I can only get a GPU on the 20th, but I want Pascal! WTF do I do?

My birthday is the 20th, so I'm only allowed to get my present then.

I'm in a dilemma where I want to get a new CPU and GPU on my birthday (20th) but Pascal is still a week or two off from now, so that's not a viable option (releases 27th for GTX 1080)

 

Should I get a GTX 980 now and once I'm planning to make an AMD Zen build (Christmas) should I just migrate the 980 and buy a second one? It'll be much cheaper by then...

Keep an eye out for retailers offering pre-orders maybe? Not sure if places do that with graphics cards...

NCIX and Newegg are both a no, not willing to look anywhere else in Canada for the release of the GPUs. Should I just get a 980 then?

EDIT: On a side note, isn't your FX-4100 a little on the weak side for such a chip? Wouldn't it throttle/bottleneck the card?

Getting a present earlier is not possible but LATER... why can't you just wait 7 days it's not like after all these years of you living you have to get presents the exact same day you were born. Well that's just me and I certainly don't want to judge you bro!

Ask for the 980, Claim to your parents it doesn't work in your system. Go back to the store 7 days later and buy the GTX 1080  But seriously try to explain to them the situation.

I can definitely wait till the 27th, but that's really... Wait... I'm planning on migrating the GPU I buy to upgrade this PC and moving it to the next computer I make... But what if I got last gen and left it in that PC (cheap) and just got new parts for my PC in December?
