Painting my CM Elite 431 plus...are these material good enough?

YugaFGT

Ok - first up, sanding, go to home depot, look for some various grit sandpaper - go from low to high. Better if you have a hand/palm sander. Strip off as much old paint as possible.

Now, onto the next issue - painting a case. :) The only issue with painting a case is many paints go on uneven, really hard to get a good, clean coat. Second, they are thicker then the original. Which means with the tight tolorances, things may not fit back together properly, like your side panel.

Just make sure you put on as thin of coat as you can, hence why you want to strip as much original off. And typically only one coat of primer. For layers of paint, until you get the color and finish you are happy with. Just remember, more paint, means more likely change things won't fit.

This is why you see a lot of people sending cases out to be professionally done...
