Looking for a good closed back headphone under $260

I'm looking for a good pair of closed back portable headphones that have a good sound stage, a good sound signature for all music genres and gaming.

Budget $260.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Astro A40.  Closed back. Comes with MixAmp Pro, which is sooooooo useful, very customizable (settings and aesthetics).

Pretty much the perfect headset for gaming.

HyperX Cloud IIs are my copy-paste answer, regardless of budget. They sound quite accurate and nice (though I haven't properly tried the "audiophile class" headphones, they have really good noise cancellation, surround sound etc etc but the most important thing about them is that they are super comfortable. I often forget I am wearing them (can barely feel around my ears and cannot feel on top of my head) but they still seal nicely.

They are probably not exactly what you are looking for, but I can highly recommend them nethertheless.

If I've said something wrong, please correct me

Onboard is just fine as long as you didn't get the cheapest motherboard you could find.

The 250 ohm ones can run on most mid end motherboard.

NO.

Just because they're high impedance doesn't mean they need an amp.

@Dackzy I thought I'd save you the hassle ;)

Thanks for the trust :)

There isn't really a reason to get the 250 ohm over the 80 ohm...

My golden rule is to try the headphones with your own solution before you buy a amp.

Nah, if everything in the headphones is the same the 250ohm version should sound the same as the 80 ohm version. I will check if the FR are the same for the 250 and 80, if they arent they have change more than just the ohm.

I can't find anything that shows a difference in FR, but some people say the bass is tighter in the higher Ohm versions, but I would more call that for wish thinking, like when you tell people one thing is cheap and the other one is expensive and they say the expensive one is the best, even though they are the same thing.
