Nice find!

Apparently he's really impulsive and already bought it which is crazy. It also has an empty 2.5in slot for an extra 1TB if he needs it which is cool

My friend just broke his old Macbook Pro (what a shame, really) and is looking to join the PCMR. Budget is strictly sub 1000 (although cheaper is appreciated). Looking to do light gaming (960M maybe?). SSD, slim profile, and good battery life are all plus's. Thoughts?

Integrated graphics are good enough for things like LoL and Hearthstone. You can't beat the build quality too. If you are looking for something with dedicated, you might want to look somewhere else. SSD + GPU + slim is kinda hard to do

I should be studying.

@Moonzy 's suggestion looks way more tempting. I've seen plenty of dedicated GPU solutions at this budget so I don't think intergrated will cut it.

You said he wanted an SSD. The model with an SSD is $200 more than $1000

I should be studying.

It has only 1 2.5' slot - the other drive slot is for M.2 SSDs.

Anyhow, enjoy. It's a decent, albeit budget, option.

From what I saw the M.2 slot is occupied with the boot SSD while the 2.5 slot is free
