Could you explain?

the CMOS battery in a motherboard is a battery that runs a chip that stores the date, and time information and your settings in your BIOS. it's a small round battery on the motherboard itself about the size of a quarter and it is called a CR 2032 I think. I don't know if that has any effect on your icon positions, but it could be that...

Have you had any other problems, as this doesn't sound right if there's no other problems with the system?

I've seen this happen when there's possibly stability issues and the windows explorer.exe has failed in some way... but haven't seen this happen on a win10 system. Are you running an OC?

Hmm, don't have a clue then... if nothing else has changed on your PC and you don't have any other problems I can't see a reason why they would change every time. Only other thing I can think of is some kind of malware.
