What type of speeds would I get with SSD RAID 0

Kickflapper

I saw a samsung 850 evo 500gb for 100.00 and that is a great price. This would also mirror my current 850 and could go RAID 0, is it really worth it? What speeds am I looking at?

things!~

real world, not much

benchmarks, 1.8x or so

I kinda figured. Under what kind of circumstance then would a 950 pro m.2 really make a difference? Really I feel my SSD is plenty fast, but when would one really need the extra speed in the really world?

I have two SSDs in RAID0 and I get roughly 2GB/s read and 1.5GB/s write and the only reason I put them in RAID in the first place was so I could saturate my 10Gb/s link to my server for file transfers and whatnot. In the real world unless you are doing a lot of file moving or have a 10Gb link between yourself and a server then there isn't much reason to do it. Now if you wanted redundancy you could go with RAID 1 for your SSDs and that way if one fails you're still good to go.
