Memory is cheap nowadays, especially with the up-rise of ssds. More people are getting into the market, driving down the price.

it's pretty normal, ddr4 8gb is around $30-ish lol

because when more people need something they can make more of it, driving down production cost per item.

(and the ability of shipping in larger quantities, you'd be surprised how much that does)

well its a pretty low speed bin for DDR4 so thats why its cheap

 

plus its just a single 8GB stick

would you recommend a 2x4GB over this. (I know about that dual channel stuff but will it make a difference in gaming?)

if you have 4 dimm slots and is just gaming, yea

 

i generally dont recommend 1x8gb sticks unless that person only has 2 dimm slots

 

1) dual channel goodness, wont affect gaming much unless its cpu intensive, but it will definitely help if your cpu is under heavy load

2) the future 1x8gb might not play nice with your current stick, so there's that

ddr4 is usually 2133-4000+ MHz

just like DDR3 is usually 1333-2666

 

2133 is some of the slowest ddr4
