Denmark's spy agency begins training hackers, creating a 'Crime School'

SCREAM2NIGHT

A full page ad was displayed in local newspapers and online with the text “Do you have what it takes to become a member of a secret elite force?”

“We are looking for people who have the core competencies that we can develop further,” says Lars Findsen, the head of the intelligence service. “They don’t need formal education or qualifications. They can be natural hacker talents. More than anything they need to keep going until they have cracked the codes. There are no limitations.”

So apperently Luke and Linus can predict the future.

This is hardly the first time Luke and Linus predicted the future. Maybe they learned the predict future skill at crime school? :P

They had a stand at a job fair, at my university, couple of weeks ago. Looking for black-hat talents :)

Its the Danish Armys Intelligence Agency that is recruiting talents for a blackhat unit.

It's a 4,5 month seminar divided in three modules:

  1. Basic module - Networks, IT-infrastructure and advanced security
  2. Defensive module - How to defend against hackers
  3. Offensive module - Basically how to hack :)

To be considered one is required to:

  • Good at programming
  • High level of mathematical/logical intelligence
  • Being able to work in a team
  • Have no criminal record

Do they supply the black hoodies and earth-tone cargo shorts?  If not, I'm just going to stay home and play Uplink.

The starting salary is quite good, about 464000-482000 DKK (62337-64755 €) per year, plus a retirement plan of 17,1 % on top of that. This is before tax, so divide by 2 (rule of thump in Denmark :P) and you get the payout :)
