If you have a dual booting PC can you acess the storage from one OS on the other

So i'm looking to build a PC soon and i want it to dual boot Windows 10 Pro and OSX El Capitan but my question is if i import a video from my SD card onto OSX can i acess the video in Windows 10 because it's on the same SSD

I would say no as the file format is different

You won't be able to read the OS X HFS+ file system from windows, but you will be able to read-only from the NTFS file system of windows from OS X.

 

So no, you won't be able to access the video from Windows if you put it on your OS X-formatted drive/partition.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

Yes but you will not be able to write files to either of the file systems. OS X can only access NTFS in a read-only mode. I'd like to point out though that there are 3rd party options for getting around these limitations on both operating systems.

It depends on the format the drive is in. I know when I was dual booted on my hackintosh, I could access my windows drives in mac, but not vice versa because windows can't read Mac OSX Extended Journald.

just an idea but what if you used network storage on a seperate system and then had each virtual machine access the remote storage rather than a HDD/SSD plugged into the MOBO? works in my head as you would be just navigating to a web address rather than accessing SATA connected devices... you could use a router with onboard USB or a seperate access point on your network that can read a SD card (USB reader) 

 

if you have a smart TV then you could even possibly look at a USB reader then accessing that via each VM and saving to the storage you already have set up....

 

 

but it is late and I may be overcomplicating things lol!
