CPU compatibility with MS 7778 motherboard?

If the website says it only supports APU's then I wouldn't put anything else just in case... I am not a pro on AMD's sockets, but I think that their CPUs and APUs use different sockets, so that could be why.

HP tends to be a bit picky on support, my HP motherboard even refuses to boot with low RPM fans.

 

although i'm pretty sure this is mostly a thing where they tested the motherboard to work with those, but cant guaranteee others.

(think crappy VRM motherboard with FX9590 here)
