I have an extra 4790k and want to stick it in something small (;)) but I can't find any nice micro atx mobo in stock! All the ones I've found available are either ugly (brown boards with weird color accents) or are cheap/bad reviews. I doubt the 4790k is considered old already for low stock but can't find anything >_> (located in US, normally buy from Amazon, Newegg, NCIX)

any suggestions/recommendations?

The 4790k probably has one of the best per core performances then any other CPU on the market. It isn't outdated by any means.

I know it's still amazing but a lot of the boards I was looking at were out of stock/low stock/not available/etc. etc. with no real reason (unless everyone just randomly decided to build small form factor pcs at the same time lol)

Will an ITX suite your needs? they often support at least 16gb, have 1 video card slot. I gamed on an ITX for a long time.

Either. I don't plan on using more than 1 gpu slot and don't need more that 16gb.

I actually do like that first one :3. Why is it for full size cases, all the cheap stuff is red or black but going tiny all the cheap stuff is bright blue, gold, etc??? o.O I have a asus mobo, that brown/copper board is ugly in person imo

I'm a bit of a fan of blue/purple in computers, so I've always liked asrocks blue everything.

I can't agree more though that asus's gold, and poop-brown/vomit-tan color scheme is absolutely disgusting.

Yea...I planned a red/black build for my current pc and thought the Asus board was black so went with that one. Poop brown + cooper heat sinks don't match with red ram, gpu, and cables...I decided against case leds after building it >_>'''

For the Asrock, you can probably take off the blue heat sinks and paint them. The DIMM slots wont be visible with RAM in them,

I don't feel confident painting the mobo X'D I was thinking the plastic shroud of the gpu w/ some plasti.

now that I think about it - a metallic blue gpu might look fancy :3

I have the Gaming 5, it's a nice board. Hard to go wrong with Gigabyte or Asus.

Yeah, I ended up going white case/blue LEDs because the only thing in my build that wasn't black was those two metal pieces on my MOBO. Black GPU, RAM, Hyper 212.

What you could do is get some red contact paper and lay it on top of the heat sinks, and cut off the excess with an xacto knife. I am unsure of how this will effect temps though.

But off the top of my head I can't think of a single blue gpu

yeah I can't either....I see whites, reds, blacks, and some of the special edition ones in green and gold/yellow. But no blue; which I would think might be more common than the white, green, or yellow. Especially since mobo's with those color are less common than the hundreds of blues I keep finding!!! X'O

If anything I can get a black card from evga or gigabyte because Idk how putting something over the mobo heatsinks would work out. I'm pretty sure spraying the plastic on the gpu is safe but still

There needs to be a Moto Maker style GPU customizer.

I'm stealing your idea if I can get backers >_>'''

there needs to be a standard back plate maker. None of this 1-man team in Korea or something making back plates to order. Every time I look at my MSI 970 I wish for just a nice black or red back plate :/

For real I was thinking kickstarter. I mean I know nothing about making GPUs (lol) but that doesn't even matter, give me 10mil people so I can never even deliver the t-shirts for the $20 backer lolz
