Calling all Xeon E5 26xx users.

I have created this thread to ask people who own a Xeon E5 26xx about their experience with it/them and for anyone else to share their thoughts on them. I have the E5 2670 8 core and I love it. It is great for rendering and good at gaming too. Definitely a great deal for only 65USD. So leave your comment below on how you feel about your Xeon.

Have a 2620 v3 laying around. Decent cpu, but I wanted something with a higher clock, so I upgraded to a 1650 v3. Don't know what to do with my 2620 v3.

2xE5-2680: despite the build is still under construction, it can boot. I run the large simulations and it is three times faster than the i7-4790k. Not to bad for a few dollars less.

I hope i can one day finde tow cheap E5-2667W v2 to upgrade in a few years.

I think it is arguable to say a pair of E5-2670's are the best budget to performance CPU's on the market (for multi-threaded use, however they still game fine).

I own two E5 2650's one of which is being used in my workstation for adobe creative suite work, and sony vegas rendering; the other is being used in my personal game server for running arma 3, minecraft, terraria, and other various game servers. They both have worked fantastically, seriously. I got both for a steal at 500 for the pair back a few years ago in 2013. They still run great, and do everything I could need them to.

Could you run cinebench and the blender bmw benchmark. Im curious how they would perform and if its worth it for me to buy.

I have a cinebench for a single E5 2670. Here is is. I was pretty happy with this score for only spending 65 on the CPU. Getting a second one on the future would be nice. bm6.PNG

It would be nice to pick up a V2 in the future.

I was after the best performance for my budget. And they run at 3.2 GHz on all cores what is a lot of performance.

Damn, yep. Two cheap Xeons smoke a i7-5960x in multi threaded (20cb behind in single thread) tasks. So actually even for gaming they will do okay. I think it is official, Xeon E5-2670's/E5-2680's are the best budget to performance CPU. As long as you have the motherboard.

Thank You . Looks like it might be worth it for me to upgrade my render rig one day. Thats much faster than my e3 1231v3 at rendering.

How did you get that much of an overclock?

The frequency you see is the one core turbo boost. On all cores it's 3,2 GHz.

I have a BCLK of 104 MHz.

This CPU would do just fine in Vegas but I would invest more in a GPU because rendering is much faster with a GPU.
