$100 Headset / Giveaway

I would actually recommend AGAINST the Cloud 2 and instead grab the HyperX Cloud or Cloud Core... You are paying $30 more for a very shitty USB dongle, that's the difference... For the money, the Cloud 2 is simply not worth it when you can get an NVX XPT100 for $20 less and grab a mediocre mic for $10~.

I actually gt the cloud 2 s because of the extra colour option

It's not small it's just shitty, on here, the 2 options you're gonna find on this forum are

-Get a good headphone and pair it with a modmic or standalone mic

-Hyper x cloud or cloud core (cloud 2 extra usb dongle is shitty and unnecesary)

Is the Mod Mic route worth looking into?

Most people here will advise you to go that route, saves more money, for better quality(best option if you're a audiophile)  . Personally i didn't do it because it's too much of a hassle for me to buy stuff online.

The biggest issue I have with the Cloud 2, is that after people ask for recommendations, they go with the pricier Cloud 2 and then post later saying they are having audio problems.... More than half the time the issue with those "problems" was the dongle. A dongle that you do not NEED unless you have broken audio ports.

Yes, i'm actually looking for a single female to 2 male 3.5mm jack + extension so that i can ditch the dongle completely. I agree that the dongle does not provide any functionality worth the hassle and have been advising people away from it and instead opt for the cloud or cloud core

Hello there,

I want to buy headset. Here are the requirements:

  • Needs a Microphone
  • Needs to be $100
  • Needs to be sold by Amazon.com

Thank You,

- LittleCarrot

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If your headset has been chosen you will get a Steam Game.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I've been using the Logitech G430s for the last year, had no problems whatsoever lol. Super comfortable, good sound and a good mic :P

Also, I know my friends have had problems using 3.5mm jacks, microphone not being picked up if the audio jack was plugged in etc. At least with the headset I use I have the option to detach from the USB connector. Although, I don't plan on doing that, as the headphone jack ports are in the front of my case and will annoy me lol.

open: bigger soundstage, will leak sound and bit less bass

closed: smaller soundstage, will not leak sound atleast not to the same extend as open ones will do.

Depends on the use: If you dont need them to be on the go or in a noisy environment go for open because the sound will feel more natural and positional sound is better. If you are in a noisy environment get closed

I would go for this because it sounds good for the price and if it breaks it doesn't cost you that much to replace it.

I would (kind of) recommend the Creative Wireless HS-1200 which is what I use.

Reasons to buy:

-Wireless so you are not running over a cord with a chair and more freedom of mobility.

-Sound is very true, not altered to be too bassy or trebley.

-Mic is a respectable sound quality for an integrated boom mic. Far from the worst but definitely not the best.

-Respectable range (about 10 meters through walls).

-Features some audio controls on the headset for convenience.

Reasons not to buy:

-Charging cable is admitably short (though not as short as in the amazon pictures).

-On ear headphones, some people don't like those but they are more comfortable than around ear and don't fall out like in ear IMO.

-The setting to enable audio feedback (to hear yourself through your mic) has a noticeable delay to the point where it is disorienting to talk, not recommended. This seems to be a software feature not a hardware one.

HyperX Cloud for $70 or Sennheiser G4ME One for $150 are the essential 2 products for headsets when quality is wanted. If funds permit it I would go for the Sennheiser over the Cloud, but its above budget.
