Sennheiser HD 800 S vs HD 800

Is it worth paying the couple of extra bucks for buying the S edition? Most important question, will they run off of a Asus Xonar STX?

This is true, but the S variant is sexier. I suppose you could always paint the originals, but just the thought of doing so makes me nervous.

Uh, I was never referring to painting anything.

 

There are several ways to mod the HD800 to get close to the

 

sound

of the HD800S.

I've considered doing such to save a bit of money, but I'm so afraid of damaging the driver.
