How often do you need to clean your pc

I havent cleaned the dust on my PC for about 2 months. (except front dust filter). How often do i need to clean the inside of my PC? It is just a hassle to remove all the back panel IO connectors, and move the 40 pound pc case under my desk and remove the side panel just to clean it.

Depends on the room it's in. Is it kept relatively clean? Is it carpeted? Are there pets around it?

Are there dust filters on all the intake fans? Is the case pressure positive or negative? (That one will change the areas the dust builds up in terms of any gaps in the case).

Beyond that, a quick visual inspection while the pc is off, no internal fans (cpu/gpu) spinning will give you an idea of where you stand. A little dust is unsightly, but won't hurt performance by any meaningful amount.

For me, I'm in a carpeted room with no pets. But it's an old house, it's drafty, it gets dusty. So the filters need cleaning every 3-4 weeks, by then they're pretty caked. During the summer it'll be more like 2 weeks. In terms of internals, I've not had a need to clean them yet. My case is slightly biased toward positive pressure, the majority of the dust builds up on the intake filters for me. As long as I keep them clean, the rest keeps up pretty well.

It depends on the PC. I. e. the PC in my profile picture needs a bit more attention because it is a show build and I want it to look pristine all the time.

My other PCs get cleaned about every 6 months, except my home server that I only clean once a year.

Unless the environment is very dusty and/or has fur bearing pets, there is little need to clean a system. Each cleaning runs the risk of damaging parts. I rarely clean a system.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
