Laptop HDD upgrade to SSD.

I have an old Dell laptop wich is running slow.

I was thinking in upgrading the SSD but I have to remove the whoel motheboard to do it

I wanted to know if by having the same precautions as in a Desktop PC (antistatic wirstband and touching metal frame) i could avoid any ESD or if I need special precautions.

Thanks ina dvance

Make sure you remove the battery and if you can't (non-removable) be aware that it will be always on so you could accidentally short out the battery if your not careful.

Also be careful with different length screws and use a magnetic tray or something as the screws can be tiny and roll away.
