you need:

Mixer.

Headphones that isolates really well.

big speakers.

many different kinds of speakers.

light for the light show.

music.

Many dj's has a laptop where the mixer is hooked up to.

money to buy all the things.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Before you invest a lot of money, try Virtual DJ.

It's pretty good at giving you an idea of what a DJ does and if you really want to do this.

I'll check it out once I get my laptop charger. Thanks!

Definitely check out digital softwares. If you want to do smaller shows, you can get a sort of USB deck that you can mix with. Get some good isolating headphones, and practice practice practice. If you do play at larger venues like clubs, they will often have lights and speakers there.

Just curious, how old are you?

Yes, which is what I would do to start off. Once you know for 100% you want to do it, then you should get a usb deck that works with the software of your choice. For now, I wouldnt invest in any hardware, just get used to the software

But honestly, I don't really use it, as I do more oldies music just haven't recorded much yet, I need to get a new mic, a stand up bassist, and someone who can do baritone and tenor vocals.

Ahh nice.

I'm more into the electronic scene. I use Logic on my mac (although am building a pc v soon, and upgrading to bitwig on both my mac and PC), and use NI Massive, X-fer Serum, and some other shit lol
