depends, i would imagine the intel 750 would be a bit faster, maybe only competing with the 950 pro and the new Super SSD that were just released

Hey

This might be a stupid question but I've got an Asus x99 Deluxe 3.1 which comes with a M.2 PCIE adapter. My question is should i buy an M.2 SSD put it into the PCIE adapter, or an Intel 750 400gb PCIE SSD. Which will run faster.

Thanks

you can actually look this stuff up you know

M.2 runs off the SATA controller

NVME is completely PCI-E based

so you should know which is faster

Ok here. I don't know exactly which one will be faster but I can tell you that IT DOES NOT MATTER. Both are going to be blazing fast. Pick whichever one works for you best space wise in my advice...

Pretty sure M.2 is just the form factor you can get M.2's that run off PCIe that aren't nvme just as you can get m.2 sata drives.

For example the samsung SM951 is an m.2 pcie drive that's not nvme while the 950 pro m.2 is an m.2 drive with nvme.

That being said, you don't need to use the PCIe adapter, you can just get an m.2 drive and stick it in your onboard m.2 slot.
